A beautiful sunny morning made me take this pic of all my sanding and polishing efforts.
I broke down and bought a 1 ton arbor press for dimpling tubes and shaping head badges.  So much nicer than using the vise.  Now to get Farr Frameworks to machine me a nice backer block to replace the wood.
This should be ample mud clearance.
The first miter cut!

I'm managing to find small blocks of time to get work done on Craigs frame.  I got the dropouts silver brazed to the chainstays.
Now, I'm removing the fender eyelets for the obvious reason and starting the polishing.  Lots of up close and personal time involved sanding and polishing.

Really pushed it the last few days, trying to work ahead since I'll be leaving for Mexico on Friday.  I got a quick turn around on the Crux frame, thanks Pressley!  So, Rob, you can pick it up tomorrow.

It does look pretty cool and I'm told the matte clear is a flexible urethane and will absorb impact rather than chip.  We shall see what the rigors of cross will do.

I was also able to get the colors and one coat of clear on the Waterford.  But the decals and final clear will have to wait until I return.

Started working out the positioning of the couplers for Craigs frame.  I also have his dropouts ready to braze to the chainstays.

I shot the second coat of matte clear, only to have it "blush" on me.  As near as we can figure it out, the first coat needed more than 24 hours cure before the second was applied.  So it is now back at the strippers with, hopefully, a quick turn around.
Here is the final revision to Craigs cross bike.  It'll be sweet.
With nothing to paint, I thought I would start carvong up Craigs lugs and bottom bracket.  I rough it with a double cut, then finish with a sanding drum and then by hand.

The weather has finally calmed down enough so I could shoot the first two coats of matte clear.  I'll let it cure overnight and shoot the final two coats tomorrow.
